As you know, the ES50 Series Engine Controllers offer a great deal of flexibility and universality for all types of engine automation applications. The suite of adjustments and switches on the unit allow the installer to configure the module on any engine without prior knowledge of the engine’s particulars. This capability has obvious benefits for customers working with a multitude of different engine systems and simplifies stocking requirements. However, many OEM customers essentially produce “identical products” where similar systems are manufactured on a volume basis. These customers can benefit substantially from a more streamlined process, where the configuration of the unit is fixed requiring no calibration or adjustment on the production line. DynaGen is offering custom features on all ES51/52 engine controllers eliminating the nuisance associated with adjustments. Some of the benefits are:

• Virtually eliminates shop time associated with calibration and setup. It is truly a “Plug-and-Run” solution, just plug in the controller and its ready to go.
• Eliminates a potential source of human error causing maladjustment's leading to lost time and frustration. This can be beneficial both on the production line and in the field so you have the confidence that no “twiddling” of settings is possible.
• By optimizing the adjustments, we can pass along savings to you by eliminating expensive potentiometers and switches. You will save money both in the purchase of the product and many more savings during the installation process.

Below is a list of options available with custom ES51/52 units:

1. Fixed cranking time
2. Fixed crank rest time (rest time can be different from crank time)
3. Fixed crank disconnect frequency
4. Fixed overspeed frequency
5. Fixed number of crank attempts
6. Fixed timer setting (glowplug, choke, etc.)
7. Fixed oil switch configuration with custom oil bypass time
8. No Speed Signal Shutdown enable or disable, both during cranking and running

Additional Features Available for Custom Units:

1. Delay-to-start Timer
2. Warm-up Timer with an output to engage a load after warm-up
3. Cooldown Timer
4. “Energize-to-stop” configuration for start/stop contacts to stop fuel control.
5. Other custom timer functions available upon request

Configuration Management:

You may have several different configurations requiring customization. Due to the versatility of the ES50, we can install wire jumpers in order to select your various configurations. This is an excellent way to reduce both installation and service costs.

Speed Signal Source

If you’re using a magnetic pickup, the ES50 has the capability to safely reliably accept direct generator output that does not require added transformers. No tapping and no extra components required, just connect speed signal to generator mains (300VAC Maximum) and your ready to go. You can select a custom configuration that works within the frequency range required for generator mains sensing along with a fixed crank disconnect and overspeed frequency.

Pricing and Ordering

There is no charge for custom configuration on orders of 24 pieces or more. Since there are cost savings associated with eliminating adjustment potentiometers and switches, we can pass those savings along to you.
